We can all see and feel the rapid pace of change around us these days. Technological, social, and environmental transformations are remaking our institutions and personal lives on a near-daily basis. This amount of change is tough to digest and requires smart and conscientious leaders to be our guide. In a world where 70% of the largest entities on earth are now corporations, businesses have a responsibility to step up and help lead the way through this change.

This, undoubtedly, is a tall order. Business executives must expand their leadership skills and capacity to rise to the challenge. Doing so will help ensure both personal and organizational success.

This session of ExecuNet Master Class will focus on two capacities in particular:

  • Cultivating a paradox mindset – The road ahead will require managing tensions that are not “solvable” such as focusing on both profits and people and providing both stability and flexibility. We’ll discuss some of the key tensions to manage and strategies for doing so.
  • Strengthening team-based leadership – The days of smart individuals being able to singlehandedly drive the success of an organization are long gone. Success will increasingly go to those organizations whose senior executives can truly lead as a team. We’ll discuss some of the key conditions for team-based leadership success.
