Courage and Leadership: a Talk by Lara Stein and Kaila Colbin
In this extra-special session of ExecuNet Master Class, Boma Co-Founders, Lara Stein and Kaila Colbin will discuss two essential skills for senior executives: courage and leadership.
As a certified Dare To Lead facilitator who has trained with Dr. Brené Brown, Kaila Colbin is an expert on the topic of courageous leadership. Kaila will discuss how to measure and teach courage as a skill and will explore the way our changing world challenges us to prepare executives and employees for the future.
Lara Stein is arguably the world's best at creating community and most connected to the world's global learning ecosystems. Lara will share her insights into what made her successful in scaling sustainable global networks like TEDx, Singularity University, the Women's Global March, and Boma Global. Lara will also discuss the importance of holistic leadership training (knowledge and skills), and why the corporate training model is in need of reform.

About the Presenter:Kaila Colbin is a co-founder of Boma Global and the CEO of Boma New Zealand. She is a certified Dare To Lead facilitator based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, and a Climate Project Ambassador who trained with Al Gore. She spearheaded the hugely successful SingularityU New Zealand and Australia Summits, introducing more than 2,500 people to exponential technologies and their impact on humanity. She is also a co-founder of the non-profit Ministry of Awesome; was the Curator and Licensee for TEDxChristchurch in New Zealand and TEDxScottBase in Antarctica. Her purpose in life is to be an uplifting presence.
Lara Stein is the Co-Founder and CEO of Boma Global. Prior to founding Boma, Lara was the Executive Director of Women’s March Global, where she built the Women's March Global platform and oversaw all Women's March initiatives outside of the US. Previously Ms. Stein was MD Global Development at Singularity University, responsible for Singularity University's global expansion and implementation of vision and strategy. Prior to her time at SU, Lara was the founder and director of the TEDx program at the TED Conferences, creating and leading the effort to bring TED to the world by developing a program that granted free licenses to third parties to organize independent TED-like events. Stein also currently sits on the board of Equality Now, dedicated to creating a more just world for women and girls and Lalela, a non-profit dedicated to education through the arts in South Africa.
