Using Job Boards to Advance Your Search

Not getting calls when you respond to job listings? ExecuNet’s Coach Don says, “Don’t depend on job postings to land your next job.”

Master Class Host Tony Vlahos peppered Coach Don with questions from members in Ask Coach Don Your Job Search Questions, a session of ExecuNet Master Class. Coach Don fielded all questions with his usual wealth of job search knowledge and provided answers that are the result of years of working with senior-level executives. In this excerpt from the master class, Don shares his thoughts on how recruiters view responses to their job board postings.

Most job seekers in Don’s experience don’t know how to utilize keywords and are being eliminated by gatekeeper software before the recruiter even sees the resume, but he knows what to do about that… and so do the ExecuNet members that he works with.
