The rules for personal marketing collateral – resume, CV, cover letter – have evolved over the years. For executives, it is all about positioning one’s value story so that recruiters can see specifically what you do, the things you will make happen for your next employer. People hiring executives aren’t interested in scrolling through someone’s bullet points and connecting dots to how/if that person may be a fit. At the executive level, it needs to be readily apparent in under 10 seconds what you make happen or they move on to the next candidate.

During a Q&A session for Premium Members, ExecuNet career strategists Saundra Botts and Kathleen Pringle discuss personal marketing collateral and the importance of leading with one’s Value Story when job searching at the executive level.
