At the executive level, networking is the key to an effective job search. To be good at networking, one needs a clear Value Story. Letting people know you are “looking for your next opportunity” just isn’t going to help you. They need to be able to easily understand and explain what you do in a meaningful way. No matter if it’s online or in-person, your network must be able to articulate the problems you solve, the value you bring.

Before your network can do that, you’ve got to work through it yourself, probably with a coach to guide you. The stakes are so high at the executive level that professional guidance in developing a Value Story has become a necessity. Listen to ExecuNet career strategist Stacie Haller explain.
