Combining a job search with launching yourself as an independent consultant is a strategy many executives are using to expand their opportunities and elevate their careers. It can be the springboard to landing a full-time gig with a company after you have already gotten a good look at what they are all about. Or, like many, you may want to stick with the consultant role so that you have greater variety of engagements and complete autonomy.
