A typical job search mistake that happens at every level: Asking your network to chat about your job search and to keep an eye out for something that looks good for you.
Instead of doing that, talk about the problems you solve. Then if they know someone with that problem they’ll think of you…and feel really good about themselves for making the connection that helps both parties.
