We can’t stress enough that job search at the executive level is simply not the same at the lower levels. The networking, the resume, the online profile, where you look, what you stress in interviews, it’s all focused differently when going for a position as an executive.
We discussed this topic with executive recruiter William Vanderbloemen, and he had some interesting things to say. During one point, he likened an executive search to doctors doing a tissue match…that’s how important “fit” is at the executive level.
