“What’s the hiring market like for senior leaders and how should executives adapt their strategies to succeed today?”
That was one of the key questions raised during a recent ExecuNet Q&A, and it’s one that’s top of mind for many executives navigating today’s job market.
ExecuNet’s Director of Coaching, Harriette Lowenthal, shared her perspective on what’s working now for senior leaders in transition.
According to Harriette, executives are absolutely landing interviews and offers right now. In fact, many companies are focused on getting the right leadership talent in place before year-end—so they can start the new year with momentum and clarity of direction.
But the key differentiator lies in how executives are getting noticed.
“Only a small percentage of executives find their next role by applying to a job posting,” Harriette notes.
At the executive level, networking remains the most effective path to new opportunities. The catch? Before you can successfully engage your network, you need to have a clear and compelling Value Story– one that articulates who you are as a leader, the impact you deliver, and the results you drive. Your Value Story becomes the foundation for meaningful conversations and effective interviews.
