Personal Vision Statement: Necessary to Becoming a Great Leader

How does a personal vision statement factor into becoming a great leader?
Powerful personal vision elements

Too often we allow effectiveness to be mistaken for greatness. You need to come up with the key values and their descriptions which represents who you are and who you intend to be. You use those values to develop a personal vision statement. This statement is much like a company mission statement, guiding your course and consistently found in every interaction one has with you.

Greg Selker, a retained executive search and leadership consultant and author of Creating Leaders & Organizations of Greatness: A How-to-Guide, explored this concept in this excerpt from a session of ExecuNet Master Class.
