“A long search was a complete shock to me,” said Forrester. “I thought I had a very strong network and solid references. The competition for every position was extreme. Because of my seniority and my previous salary history, I think some opportunities felt their compensation plans would not satisfy my requirements. My impression was that every company was trying to get the most senior-level person for as low a compensation plan as possible.”
