Why You Must Understand the Performance Objectives of Companies You Interview With

One area executives don’t pay enough attention to during interviews is uncovering exactly what performance objectives will be used to measure how they do if they get the job they’re interviewing for. At best they get a general sense and let it go at that, thinking they can always figure it out once they have the job.

That can end up being a huge mistake.

Many times the Board or the CEO doing the hiring doesn’t yet know the answer. You can’t know if a job is the right fit for you if don’t have a good understanding of how you will be evaluated. If you don’t know, things end up working their way into the equation, and you may not think you signed up for that.
