For an executive’s job search a “must have” is a great LinkedIn profile. Every recruiter is going to look for candidates on LinkedIn, and even if you network into a position through personal contacts, anyone interviewing you will certainly be looking you up on LinkedIn. There is simply no getting around how important LinkedIn is.

Despite its importance, the average profile gets only six seconds of attention by a recruiter! If you want more attention than that you’ve got to have what they want to see. Recruiter Jeff Hyman led a session of ExecuNet Master Class for ExecuNet VIPs on How to Headhunterize Your LinkedIn Profile. The four elements that he is looking for a candidate to convey in their profile are shared in this excerpt from the session.
