When it comes to an executive job search your marketing efforts are a huge driver of how much success your search produces. Fortunately, one thing you control about your job search is how you market yourself. Interestingly, self-marketing is one of the most underdeveloped areas of most executives’ job search.

A product’s marketing must be consistent and planned, an executive’s marketing strategy is no different.  Yet ExecuNet Career Strategist Saundra Botts, who works every day with ExecuNet VIPs to achieve their career goals,  has found that the biggest inconsistencies she sees are the conversations candidates are having with their networks  to get found for interviews and during the interviews themselves are often not consistent with what they have on their resume and other personal marketing collateral. This indicates lack of clarity of unique value proposition and is what recruiters at ExecuNet’s recent recruiter summit indicated to be the biggest weakness of candidates today.

Listen to Saundra talk about this in an excerpt from a VIP-access only session of ExecuNet Master Class.
