JOB SUMMARY: Direct and oversee the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT and Digital programs and projects meet organization goals, deadlines, budget and requirements to advance the business overall across Universal Parks & Resorts. Develop and implement PMO processes and policies, lead program management team, and work with other department leaders to define, prioritize and develop projects and programs. Manage deliverables, risks, issues to improve consistency, predictability, and efficiency of the organization project delivery and agile maturity.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead portfolio planning and management across projects & products inclusive of project selection, prioritization and approval
  • Define, develop, implement and sustain a change control process to support delivery needs to changes are ensure adequately defined, reviewed and tracked based on approval criteria to not impact delivery timelines
  • Create and lead the resource management function and process for agile and waterfall development and deployment
    Identify, develop, implement and sustain process improvements and best practices across PMO to support delivery excellence
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to achieve robust and sustainable governance model
  • Provide overall leadership to project management structure, approach and reporting. Work broadly with both Business and Technology to insure that best practice management structure and processes are implemented and managed to drive scope management and on-time/on-budget development and deployment.
  • Work with Product & Technology teams to develop, track, analyze and publish project and financial reports, scorecards, and program/project performance trends.
  • Lead the agile transformation initiative: inclusive of culture and mindset.
  • Provide overall leadership to project management structure, approach and reporting.   • Create transparency, measurability, and accountability to effectively manage deliveries.
  • Oversee the critical area of risk management, dependency management and mitigation; inclusive of issue identification, risk assessment and mitigation development and recommendations.
  • Achieve operational excellence and superior results by building a high-performing team to achieve and exceed goals and objectives
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports/team members in day-to-day management and administration of UPR transformation work
  • Provides clear executive decision-making priority management
  • Manage department budget in partnership with finance to manage resource needs, vendor contracts and project delivery

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15 + years in progressive transformation, technology enablement, or innovation:
  • Expert knowledge of large scale transformation initiatives
  • Experience in project team leadership and large scale program planning and implementation
  • Expert at stakeholder and partner management
  • Experience in executive communication, relationship building and decision making
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills, and be able to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply
  • Proven ability to maintain a high-level of client service
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute strategic initiatives
  • Budget Management
  • Experience with web and mobile development technologies/services, e-commerce platforms, operational and analytics data platforms, enterprise integration, and cloud computing
  • Demonstrated ability to support and implement an appropriate business aligned strategic architecture vision for global applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables and ad hoc requests.
  • Demonstrated experience in areas of general management, specifically around team member development, leadership skills, organizational skills, and managing/setting priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex issues, program, and business interest related issues.
  • Well developed, executive-level critical thinking and communication skills (written and oral)

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required. Advanced degree preferred. Undergraduate degree (preferred) in engineering, technology, analytics or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Preferred: Project management certification (PMI or similar) and/or certification in use of specific methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Agile, etc.
