SVP of Strategic Sourcing & Real Estate



• Oversees and negotiates all vendor contracts for the enterprise and manages $1.5B of procurement spend.

• Lead the development and oversee the execution of enterprise-wide procurement and sourcing strategies for Enterprise Commodities & spend categories in order to maximize key supplier relationships and value for the organization, including supplier selection, contract negotiation and pricing, supplier relationships, supplier performance, etc.

• Strategic ownership for implementing and maintaining key sourcing and procurement market intelligence, tools, processes, policies and programs for assigned commodities/spend categories. (including media, office, mail, meeting and planning, travel and fleet services) 

• Strategic and operational planning, project management as well as day-to-day management of Company’s real estate, facilities, property operations (mailroom, grounds keeping, food services, etc.) and executive services (limo services, catering services, etc.). 

• Partners with the Claims function on strategic sourcing initiatives, shared categories and overall procurement strategies and governance

• Establish strong relationships with internal business stakeholders; build a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across Enterprise Suppliers and/or spend categories; i.e., Technology, HR, Marketing, etc.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Company’s policies and procedures related to supplier selection, contracting and ongoing management, ensuring all requirements are met and documented throughout the end-to-end process.

• Develop, implement and manage robust market analyses / benchmarking processes; leverage key insights to inform and support the category strategy development process.

• Develop, lead and/or manage a robust portfolio of initiatives for assigned categories across the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process

• Contribute to the development of long-term direction-setting for the organization; act as a key member of the leadership team 

• Attract top talent to the organization and develop internal talent for continued performance and advancement 

• Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances, ensuring compliance with Sourcing & Procurement policies and best practices 


• 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Business, and Technology 

• Experience with negotiating and documenting strategic contracts, multi-level relationship management, prospect to pay processes and technology and large-scale process/project management as well as operational, customer service and financial management expertise.

• 12+ years of broad-based business experience and understanding (e.g., management consulting or business development/strategy) strongly preferred 

• Experience managing collaborative supplier relationships 

• Ability to deal with ambiguity, create a strategy to address all stakeholder needs, and execute business needs.  Comfortable providing alternative points of view to maximize the value of a 3rd party relationship in terms of service, support, alignment with current & future needs and expense.

• Ability and experience leading and working with teams (direct and indirect, internal and external relationships) and on- and off-shore third parties to execute on business/commodity/category strategy while meeting multiple stakeholder needs.

• Demonstrated leadership ability to effectively build relationships and collaborate with key business partners within and outside the organization; including driving creation of a shared vision and facilitating high-performing teams. Expertise working with a team to execute on strategy while balancing cost, productivity and timeliness. 

• Exceptional communication skills, effective with a variety of audiences. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely and to influence and negotiate critical, significant contracts on behalf of the organization.
