Summary Analysis:
While executive recruiters continue to express confidence in the executive employment market for 2010, fewer of them are planning to hire additional staff as many search firms proceed with caution until the economy signals a more significant recovery.
After spiking positively in January, ExecuNet's benchmark Search Firm Hiring Index retreated in February, with only 21 percent of 183 responding executive recruiters indicating they have plans to hire additional consulting and/or research staff in the next three months.
Seventy-five percent of respondents indicated their staffs would remain at current level during the same period.
