How can I use the ExecuNet Market Trend Watch indices, the quarterly Executive Talent Demand Index and the Executive Job Index?
Attached is a copy of the latest Executive Employment Report (EER). Distributed quarterly by ExecuNet, a recognized authority in the executive job market and recruiting industry, the EER is designed to reveal trends in executive hiring.
Highlights of this quarter's report include:
Industries
No landing in sight for executive job growth. Recruiters' confidence in the executive employment market during the third quarter of 2006 remained near all time highs amid an increasing shortage of top talent. With energy prices falling and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) reaching new highs, confidence levels were not affected by increased speculation that the U.S. economy was headed toward a "soft landing.
Executive search industry expands. As the competition for executive talent heats up across a broad range of industries, executive recruiters remained focused on building their bandwidth in the third quarter to meet the needs of a growing client base. After reaching an all time high in June 2006, ExecuNet's Search Firm Hiring Index has remained above its 12-month average during the three months that ended September 30.
Brisk hiring in Healthcare, Financial Services and High-Tech industries. Companies in the Healthcare sector continue to aggressively recruit executive-level talent as demand for the industry's products and services is expected to increase as the Baby Boomer generation ages. Executive job growth in the Financial Services High-Tech industries also remains strong as the stock market reached another milestone and businesses remained committed to investing in technology.
Executives expect war for talent to heat up heading into the first quarter of 2007. Executives' confidence in the employment market closed the third quarter at a sixteen month-high, as declining gasoline prices and strong stock market gains appear to be easing concern that U.S. economic growth is slowing.

"The next time I have an upper-level position, I will get in touch with ExecuNet. I was very pleased with the quality of the candidates that I was receiving. Normally, if I were to post this on [other sites], I'd receive about 100 candidates who think they're qualified [and are] not, and maybe 2 that might barely fit the specs. So, from an internet-recruiting standpoint, you guys are doing a wonderful job!!! Thanks again!"
